Longer
term work/study type internship: |
| Description |
An opportunity to assist with and learn all aspects of running
a free-lance photography business. Internships last at least
2-3 months and will be approximately 2-3 days a week and include
shoot assistance, marketing and promotions, shoot planning,
stock photography file management, image cleaning and manipulation
with Photoshop, general office work and more. Currently, there's
an emphasis on environmental portraiture (see maziarzpeople.com
) and local travel photography (see parkcitystock.com
) along with some individual sports photography (see
sportsstockphotography.com ) |
| Requirements |
1.
Personal, academic and/or work references.
2.
Advanced Photoshop skills. Additional skills such as html
& Flash would be appreciated.
3.
A love of photography. |
What
You Get |
1.
Learn how to run a successful photography business.
2. Help with self-assignments.
3. Consultation on starting your own web-based stock photography
business.
4. College
credit is possible (this depends on your school's requirements.)
In my
experience, even though these benefits have been offered in
the past, they require a self-motivated individual to take
advantage of them. Are you self-motivated?
|
| Pay |
Stipend TBD.
|
| Timeframe |
Flexible, but heaviest shooting times are summer and winter
rather than spring and fall. Ideally, we should try to plan
a week-long try-out period to make sure we work together well
before we both commit to the internship.
|
| How
to Apply |
Send an email describing:
1. your
experience,
2. what
type of photography you like best,
3. some samples of your work (small JPEGs or a web link),
4. your
qualifications and
5. what you can bring to the internship.
I try
to reply to all emails, but please don't take it personally
if you don't get a reply right away.
